Nellie's is a 1965 English Double Decker bus that has been in the Sale family for more than 15 years. 10 years ago the Sale family lost their first child, Kristy, to natural causes. She was 18 years old when she passed away and was mentally disabled. Nellie's serves Happy Cup Coffee, a coffee company in Portland Oregon that employs mentally disabled adults, helping them fulfill a fun, enjoyable and responsible life. 5 years ago, the Sale family lost yet another daughter, Danielle (Nellie), to what was known as the "worst transit accident in Northwest's history". Danielle and four of her friends were walking in a crosswalk (with a green light) in Portland Oregon when a Trimet bus driver made an illegal left hand turn, striking and killing Danielle and her friend Jenee. After the accident and much devastation, the Sale family decided to fund a foundation called "Dani's Wish" that helps providing families in the Clark County area with funeral expenses, providing families the opportuinity of giving their child a proper funeral due to unexpected or sudden death. 10% of all of Nellie's proceeds go to Dani's Wish Foundation. The bus was remodeled and rebuilt 3 years ago by the Sale family to make it into the coolest and best Double Decker Bus Vancouver has ever seen. With all the orginal seats, upstairs sits up to 16 people with new floors and new tables. Downstairs is a fully contained kitchen with a gourmet espresso machine, sinks, refrigerators and much more. Nellie's serves delicious pulled pork and pulled turkey sliders, gourmet and local pastries, espresso, pasta and ribs, smoothies, breakfast burritos and much more. Nellie's specializes in pub crawls throughout Vancouver as well as wine tours, birthday parties, coroporte parties, catered events sightseeing tours and much more. You name it, we'd love to do it!
